- Brandy Liên Worrall-Soriano, Finding Memories, Tracing Routes: Chinese Canadian Family Stories
Every story, every book, begins with one word. Starting small will lead to a finished product. But the most important thing is to start in the first place. Rabbit Fool Press was created in 2010 to guide writers in their journey, from start to finish.
Rabbit Fool Press founder Brandy Liên Worrall-Soriano began her formal career as a writer and editor 15 years ago, working for book, magazine, and university publishers, as well as being an active leader in the community arts scenes in Boston, Los Angeles, and Vancouver. Because of her passion, interest, and experience in teaching others about all aspects of the written word, from initial thought to the printed product, she has been able to guide hundreds of writers to realizing their dream of publication.
Brandy's distinctive mix of skills and talents not only gets the pen moving, but also puts into the hands of her students a published book with their names and stories in it. At the very core of Rabbit Fool Press's mission is the belief that you CAN write, you DO have a story to tell, and you - and your family and friends - WILL see it in print and cherish every word.
Rabbit Fool Press achieves the accomplishment of publication through its unique six-week writing workshops. So not only do you have a book with your name in it in a matter of months, but you also get to be linked into a network of other writers, with whom you can share your stories, feedback, and tips. You'll have the opportunity to develop creative friendships that will last a lifetime.
In addition to its popular workshops, Rabbit Fool Press also publishes anthologies, children's books, poetry, and limited-edition chapbooks on a range of subjects, including mixed race writing and family history. If you have a project you are interested in publishing, please send us an email to inquire if your project fits our editorial scope.
"As a student of Brandy's food writing workshop, I found her not only enthusiastic and knowledgeable, but she could also critique in a way that squeezed more creativity out of me. She's good at discipline -- a necessary evil to sharpen and hone my writing skills in a given time period. Line up for her classes. You won't regret it!"
